WHO ARE WE?
CSTA California Desert Valley was established as your local computer science community. This chapter was built to connect you with other computer science teachers, provide professional development to help you improve your craft, and connect your local voice to the national computer science education community.

Chapter President - Ascension Reyes

Currently Technology Resource Teacher at De Anza STEM Magnet School in El Centro CA. Coding with Arduino, Microbit, Halocode, Scratch and much more. 

Chapter Vice President - Brian Phillips

Currently 6th Grade Teacher at Pine School in Holtville CA and and an Apple Distinguished Educator interested in coding with SWIFT, 3D printing, creativity and innovative teaching methods.

Chapter Treasurer - Richard Sanchez

Currently - Principal John F. Kennedy Middle School, El Centro CA. Past District Science Specialist and HTML enthusiast.  

Chapter Secretary - Jesus Huerta

Currently - 5th Grade Teacher, Calexico Unified CA. Everything 3D Printing. I teach my students to code with Microbit, Brainboard, Makecode and teach basic Game Design. 

Chapter Leader - Fernando Arguelles

Educational Technology Coach - Calexico Unified CA. Love tech, science, inquiry and anything that engages students with 21st Century methods. Computer Science is a great way to get students interested in their future.
